What You Can Do About Your Body Acne

If you have body acne, you may be embarrassed to wear certain clothing, or you may be covering up your body to hide your acne. Body acne can be present on any part of the body, although it is usually on the chest, back, buttocks, or even on the arms and legs. If you have body acne, it may be occurring because your body is producing too many oils. If this is occurring and you have body acne, there are a few things you may be able to do to get rid of your acne. Read on for tips.

Use Moisturizing Body Wash

Instead of using bar soap that can dry out your skin and cause the skin to produce more oils, you should use a moisturizing body wash to wash your body. The body wash is not as harsh on your skin and won't dry you out as bar soap does. Using a loofah can help to exfoliate your skin and remove dead skin cells that can be clogging your pores and leave you with a lot of excess oil production as well. Look for a body wash that is made for sensitive skin and doesn't contain a lot of perfumes or dyes, which can irritate your skin.

Bathe After Sweating

Remember to bathe after you sweat or do any type of workout, exercise, or sport or even after working if you sweat at work. This helps remove the sweat and bacteria from the skin and prevents clogged pores, and can prevent acne from occurring in the first place. Don't sleep with sweat on your skin or allow it to sit on your skin for extended periods of time. Get into the shower immediately afterward.

Wear Loose-Fitting Clothing

Wearing loose-fitting clothing can help to prevent acne. If your clothing is too restricting or rubs on your skin too much, it can lead to acne or other skin irritations. Washing your clothing in detergent that is made for sensitive skin and doesn't have any perfumes can also prevent acne. Wear loose-fitting clothing that is breathable to prevent acne.

If you have body acne, there are things you can do to prevent acne in the first place and to clear up your acne. Be sure to make an appointment at a dermatology clinic in your area if you aren't able to get rid of the acne on your own or if it is reoccurring.
