Natural Remedies For Scar Lightening

A scar can be embarrassing depending on which part of the body it is located. If it is highly visible then it can make you feel self-conscious. However, there are natural dermatology methods you can use to assist with the reduction of the scar as well.

These treatments rarely have any side effects and can help to reduce your scars significantly. The key to getting them to work for you is consistency. You have to try to be as consistent as possible so that these methods have time to work. Here is a look at some of the home remedies that you can try.

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera has amazing healing properties. It can be used to moisturize and soothe the skin. It is also one of the best natural remedies used for scar removal. It is always best to use the natural aloe vera plant when using this method so that you can extract the gel directly from the skin of the plant. However, if you cannot get the plant itself you can buy aloe vera gel for using this method.

Clean the scar carefully and then apply the aloe vera gel at least two times per day. If you want to ensure that you don't forget to apply it then it is best to use it once in the morning and once at night.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice can be used to fade your scar. Take one fresh lemon and cut it in half. Remove the juice from the lemon. Rub some of the lemon juice onto the scar. Let it sit for several minutes before washing it off completely.

The lemon juice is very good for removing dead skin cells and has a bleaching effect on the scar as well to make it less noticeable. Note, however, that it won't completely eliminate the scar.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar can be useful for lightening scars. You can mix up some apple cider vinegar with a small amount of water and then use a cotton swab or cotton ball to apply the mixture to your scar. Let the apple cider vinegar solution rest on this scar for a few minutes and then you can wash it off.

As mentioned before, consistency is the key when using these methods, you must give it time to work. Once you do, you should see results. If you have used one method consistently and you are not seeing results then it may be time to move on to another of the methods discussed here to see if it will work for you.
